Gauteng Tour Operators Association known as GaTOA is a non-profit organisation established in 2007 as an association of choice for Small Medium & Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) Tour Operators in Gauteng Province in South Africa. GaTOA’s mission statement is “Tourism is our passion,” was established with the prime objective to ensure that the Tourism industry remains open to all those who are interested in entering. Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) means any entity, whether or not incorporated or registered under any law, which consists mainly of persons carrying on small business concerns in any economic sector, or which has been established for the purpose of promoting the interests of or representing small business. In order to achieve this objective GaTOA plays an important role in the transformation of the industry and broadening its operation base within Gauteng Province in its entirety covering five regions viz. Gauteng central – City of Johannesburg, Gauteng North – City of Tshwane, Gauteng East – City of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng West – West Rand also known as Mogale City and Sedibeng.
